Gail Craytor, 80, of Broken Bow, passed away May 22, 2012 at Christus St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, Texas. He was born April 18, 1932 in Leoti, Kansas, the son of Fredrick and Edith Gulick Craytor. His mother died when he was 12 years of age and he was orphaned while his father served our Nation in World War II. Gail proudly served our Nation for four years as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. After his duty to the Navy, he earned a Bachelors Degree in Electircal Engineering at Colorado University. He later matriculated Denver University's Law School and earned his Juris Doctorate degree. He practiced law for six years before running for district judge where he later served three uncontested terms as judge for the State of Oklahoma, 17th Judicial District, retiring from such service 17 years ago. Gail was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Broken Bow Masonic Lodge # 441 and Idabel Masonic Lodge # 264, as well as the Eastern Star # 299, the Gideons and the Oklahoma Bar Association. Gail enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling stories and reading his bible. His greatest joy in life was his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers. Gail and Betsy Ross were united in marriage on December 18, 1955 in Cortez, Colorado. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Betsy Craytor of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Bret Craytor and wife DeAnna of Texarkana, Texas, Bart Craytor and wife Andy of New Boston, Texas; daughters and son-in-law, Jill Holland of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Becky Bonardi and husband John of Gilford, New Hampshire;grandchildren, Samantha Bonardi, Catherine Bonardi, Wendi Holland, Collin Craytor and Carson Craytor; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlette and Dr. Brad Hearne of Broken Bow; nieces, Masheli Sargent and husband Chad and Tinecia Hearne; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, May 25, 2012 from 6 to 8 pm at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26, 2012 at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church of Broken Bow with Rev. Oscar Wilkie and Rev. Clark Wrather. Burial will follow at Denison Cemetery in Idabel.
