Ervin Alexander Jordan of Mena, Arkansas, formerly of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed from this life on October 17, 2017 at Rich Mountain Nursing and Rehab in Mena, Arkansas. Ervin was born on December 20, 1921 to Ruben Alexander Jordan and Alvie Cline Jordan in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He married the love of his life, Rachel Fagan Jordan on February 29, 1944 and was married 48 years until her passing in 1992. Ervin was a hardworking, kind and gentle man who love the Lord with all his heart. He and Rachel showed a true example of what love means. His character and charm left a lasting influence on his child, grand children and great grandchildren, and all others who were around him. He went to work early in life in the CCC Camps, followed by an enlistment in the United States Army. He had a career with Dierks Lumber/Weyerhaeuser before retiring. Ervin was a member of the Broken Bow Masonic Lodge for over 50 years. He loved to raise a garden, study his Bible and spend every minute he could with his family. He was one of a kind and will be missed by all.
Ervin was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Jordan; one daughter, Nelda Wade and son in law, John Wade; his parents, Ruben and Alvie Jordan; two brothers, Benjamin Frank Jordan and Lewis Woffard Jordan, one sister Myrtis Aileen, and two infant siblings.
His memory will be forever cherished by his grand children, John David Wade, Jr. and wife Judith of Emerson, Arkansas and Alex Wade and wife Kristen of Vandervoort, Arkansas; seven great grand children, Noah, Emma, Kaylie, Matthew, Bradley, Kailey and Joey Wade; two sisters, Litty May of Neosho, Missouri and Ruby Mills of Central Point, California; one brother, Charley Jordan of Lompac, California and a host of nieces, nephews and close friends.
A visitation service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow.
A Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Denison Cemetery in Idabel, Oklahoma with the Bro. Reggie Fryar officiating.
