Ira (Buck) Elbert Johnson

Ira Elbert (Buck) Johnson, age 81, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2018 in Paris, Texas. Buck was born, December 25, 1936 in Broken Bow, the son of the late, Melvin Johnson and Ethel Mulkey Johnson. Buck was a lifelong resident of Broken Bow. Buck and Margie Lackey were united in marriage on November 28, 1956, enjoying over 61 years of a wonderful married life together. Buck was a member of the Broken Bow Masonic Lodge #441. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing the guitar, doing mechanic work and telling stories. Buck was affiliated with the Eastside Baptist Church in Broken Bow.

Buck was preceded in death by one son, Ira E. Johnson; his father, Melvin Johnson and mother and step father, Ethel and William Tate; two sisters, Wanda Foley and Kathy Hogberg.

His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Margie Johnson of the home; four sisters, Louise Hall and Lois Peevy of Broken Bow, Ok., Mary Sharp of Sacramento, California and Karen Svasti of Long Beach, California; one brother, Keith Johnson of Arizona; one brother in law, Leroy Lackey of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with the Bro. Ron Whittle officiating.

Interment will follow at the Pine Top Cemetery in Broken Bow, Oklahoma
