Laura Fern Williams, age 87, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma. Fern was born June 22, 1930 in Broken Bow, the daughter of Herbert (Fat) Dean and Genevie Burris Dean. Fern and Harold Williams were united in marriage on July 31, 1950 in DeQueen, Arkansas. Fern enjoyed cooking for the family, fishing, hunting and camping. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Fern loved to talk and visit and spend time with her family. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Broken Bow.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Genevie Dean,; one brother, Jack Dean and one sister, Lawana Wilson.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband of 67 years, Harold Williams of the home; her children, Carolyn Buckner, Herbert and Barbara Williams and Mike and Melinda Williams all of Broken Bow, Ok., Paul and Lori Williams of Texarkana, Texas, David and Tawana Williams of Golden, Ok. and Carl and Leilana Williams of Rogers, Ark.; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Dean and wife Sue of Broken Bow, Ok.; sister in law, Louise Dean of Broken Bow, Ok.; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with the Bro. John Hollinghead officiating.
Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
