Leon Battiest

Leon W. Battiest age 75, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma passed away Monday, April 1, 2019 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma. Leon was born on July 30, 1943 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, the son of Willie Battiest Sr. and Kissie Walls Battiest. He enjoyed singing, playing gospel music, dominos, horse shoes and was an avid runner. He enjoyed his senior citizens trips and spending time with his family and friends.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Kissie Battiest; brothers, Thomas Battiest, Willie Battiest Jr., Leo and Orie Battiest; sisters, Ethel McKinney, Nellie Wade, Oline Orona, and Alice Boston; nephews, Alex Battiest and Michael Stoney Battiest.

Leon leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Lawrence Battiest of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Lee Battiest of Ada, Oklahoma; nephews, Kenneth Battiest and wife Kimberly, Barry McKinney, Ricky Lewis, Brodee Currence, Carl Battiest, Lucas Battiest, Logan Lewis, Matthew Brandy, and Randy McKinney; nieces, Jessica and Cameron Mackey, Kalli Battiest, Autumn Battiest, Girlie Battiest, Darlene Willis, Kris Brandy, BryAna Brandy, Linda Wade, Edwinda Martinez, Betty Wade, and Thelma Wade, and Johnny Wade and Roland Wade and a host of other relatives and friends. A special friend Louisa Resindez.

A wake will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma

. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Melvin Palmer officiating.

Interment will follow at the Myrtlewood Cemetery
