Royce Tidwell Obituary

Royce Tidwell, age 75, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas. Royce was born January 16, 1943 in Broken Bow, the son of the late Malvin (Shorty) Tidwell and Victoria Pearl Edwards Tidwell. Royce was a lifelong resident of  Broken Bow. He proudly served his country in the  196 Light Infantry Brigade United States Army  during the Vietnam War. Royce and Mary Angel Tidwell were united in marriage on November 21, 1964. He enjoyed his work as a master rock and brick mason. Royce was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting for arrowheads and rocks. Royce was very instrumental in getting the Little League Savage Football started. He was a huge Broken Bow Savage, OU and Pittsburg Steelers Fan.  Royce was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed his special times with them. His selfless, thoughtful, caring, kindhearted, generous and supportive personality will be forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Royce was preceded in death by his parents, Malvin and Victoria Pearl Tidwell; sister, Jane Williams; niece, Melody Angel; nephew, Joby Smith and mother and father in law, Delbert and Esther Angel.

His memory will be forever cherished by his wife of 53 years, Mary Tidwell of the home; one son, Jeff Tidwell and fiancée, Missy Hiatt of Broken Bow, Ok. ,niece, Mykayla of the home; grandchildren, Blade Tidwell and Brenae Willis of Tahlequah, Ok. and Jacob Comfort of Broken Bow, Ok.;  sisters, Shirley Dunaway of Las Vegas, NV., Dala and Jerry Bunch  and Gloria and Bob Bolin of Broken Bow, Ok., brother in law, Dee Angel of Muskogee, Ok., nieces and nephews, Vickie Connell of Tulsa, Ok., Brad Dunaway of Las Vegas, NV., Jerry Dean Bunch of Los Angeles, Calif., Scott McNeil , Tracy McNeil and Britni McNeil of Tulsa, Ok., Dala and Joel Bein and daughter Izabella Bein of Tulsa, Ok., Ashley and Levi Warren  of Tulsa, Ok., David Parenti of Las Vegas, NV., Matthew Dunaway of Las Vegas, NV., Tiffany and Shane Bragg and daughter  Layla of Broken Arrow, Ok., Carly  and Coby Wamago of Broken Arrow, Ok., Derek,  Devin and Dakota Angel of Muskogee, Ok., special friends, Barbie Bohanan and Robert Colley of Broken Bow, Ok., his dog, Bella and a host of other relatives and many friends.
