Thomas Eddie Cummings

Thomas Eddie “Tinker Tom” Cummings, age 68 , of Wright City, Oklahoma, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Thomas was born May 22, 1949 in Lakeview, Oregon, the son of the late Roy Cummings and Kathleen Butler Cummings. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1969 until 1970, earning the VCM, VSM, 2 O/S Bars, GCMDL SPS (M-14), CAM 1c w/OLC, and a Purple Heart.  Thomas and Phyllis Smith Cummings were united in marriage on July 26, 1971. He was a loving, kind, patient, understanding husband, dad, and pawpaw, and daddy to several grandchildren. Thomas was employed with the Weyerhauser Company for 42 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and camping. He enjoyed Saturday football watching OU an OSU.  Thomas loved Sunday dinners with family and spent countless hours in his shop, that he built with his own two hands, and prided himself on keeping it clean.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Kathleen Cummings; brother Terry Cummings, sisters, Katherine Cummings and Sharon Cummings; adopted sister, Helen Jene; nephew, Jared Spradling; and aunt Dorothy Wilkins.

His memory will be forever cherished by his wife of 46 years, Phyllis of the home; children, Wendy Wesley of Broken Bow, Ok., Christie Cummings and Cyndi Cummings of Wright City, Ok., grandchildren, Krisha Wesley, Kolman Wesley, Laiton Hill, Kolt Black, Chayden Cummings, Kayden Cummings, Kolsyn Terry, Bryson Terry and Timberly Terry of Wright City, Ok., Talia Johnson and husband Clint of Ravenna, Texas; great grandchildren, Kyreece Watson and Kase Wesley of Wright City, Ok.;

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at Good News Fellowship Church in Broken Bow at 2:00 PM with Bro Doug Deramus officiating.

Interment will follow at Slater Memorial Cemetery in Wright City, Oklahoma.
