Wendall Gerald Davis, age 83, of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed to his heavenly home on Friday February 9, 2018, surrounded by his family. Wendall was born May 30,1934 in Hochatown, Oklahoma, the son of Monroe Davis and Etha Frachiseur Davis. Wendall and Jackie Dossey Davis were united in marriage on September 14, 1953 in Vernon, Texas. He raised his family in Oregon and California before moving back to Oklahoma in 1977. He was a member of the Broken Bow Church of Christ. Wendall worked as a bricklayer and a stone mason before working as a building inspector for the Wright City Drainage Project and the Hochatown Water Project , working several years to acquire enough signatures to fund the project. He served 8 years as the Tag Agent in Broken Bow, later becoming Manager of Hochatown Water. After retirement he enjoyed traveling and visiting with family. Wendall loved family gatherings and country music. He always shared his stories with all his family and friends. Wendall never met a stranger. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew and loved him.
Wendall was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Etha Davis; two brothers, Dean Lavon Davis and Lynn Dale Davis.
His memory will be forever cherished by his wife of 64 years, Jackie Davis of the home; his children, Pam Pratt and husband Rodney of Hochatown, Ok., Gail Tomlinson and husband Dale of Broken Bow, Ok., Jerry Davis and wife Shelly of Broken Bow, Ok. and Paula Wilcox and husband Bill of Washington, Pennsylvania; 9 grandchildren,26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and many special friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Ok., with the Bro. Nathan Diller and Bro. Caleb Richardson officiating.
Interment will follow at the Hochatown Cemetery in Hochatown, Oklahoma.
