Betty Watkins

Betty Lou Underwood Watkins passed away on January 23, 2020, in Broken Bow, OK. She was born on December 9, 1932 in Mead, OK.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis Underwood and Lillie F. Davis; her brothers, Orville Underwood, Hoyt Underwood, J.L. Underwood and Arnold D. Underwood; her sister, Wanda Carter; and her grandson, Jason Wayne Watkins.

Betty is survived by her loving son, Joe Ray Watkins, her daughter-in-law, Denese Ann Watkins; her granddaughter, Elizabeth Roxanne Schumann and her two precious great-grandchildren, Emma Elizabeth Shepard and William Preston Scott.

Betty had a B.A. master’s degree in education. She taught school forty-three years in Broken Bow and Idabel. She worked and retired from Wal-Mart and continued working for many years as a clerk at Bunch’s in Broken Bow. She loved being with her friends and family, working, cooking and helping others. She loved living life to the fullest and being around people. She touched many people in a special way. Betty will be missed by all who knew her.

 A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet in Hugo, OK.
