Cecil Reed Obituary

Cecil A. Reed age 89, went to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, December 31, 2018 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma surrounded by loved ones. Cecil was born on April 3, 1929 in Cone, Texas the son of Lela and Cecil Raymond Reed. He farmed in West Texas for many years until he relocated to Idabel, Oklahoma in 1976 and continued farming and ranching. The local farmers called him “The Straight Row Farmer” due to the pride he took in farming. After farming he did landscaping and lawn care until he was up in his 80’s. He took pride in everything he did and the rose garden at the church was a good example of his passion. He obtained his pilot’s license as a young man and enjoyed flying for many years. He was an avid fisherman, loved the Dallas Cowboys and of all things that he loved the most was Jesus his Lord and Savior. His memory will be forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Cecil is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Raymond Reed and Lela Hock Wood; son, Craig Reed; brothers, Gene and Jackie Reed; sister, Wanda Cochran; grandchildren, Erin Michelle Tidmore, Jacob Scott Wiley, Lynzee Blalock and Billie Reed, his first wife and mother of their five children.

His memory will be forever cherished by his wife Ella Reed; daughters, Barbara Wiley and husband Jeff, Linda Dollar and husband Keith, Celia Tidmore and husband Bruce of Amarillo, Texas, Terri Bedford and husband Jay of Royce City, Texas, Dana Logan and husband Richard, Jana Hughes and husband Andy of Idabel, Oklahoma; sons, Danny Reed and wife Karen of Idabel, Oklahoma; twenty-eight grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren and a hosts of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church in Idabel, Oklahoma wit Bro. Andy Bowman officiating.
