Doris Elizabeth (Utterback) Matthews

Doris Elizabeth Matthews, age 90, of Wright City, Oklahoma, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at her home. Doris was born June 7, 1927, in Hanford, California, the daughter of Louis Utterback and Bethel Funk Utterback. Doris was a retired teacher and an accomplished musician. She enjoyed singing, traveling, and was a dedicated evangelist for many years. Doris loved to garden and spend time with her family.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Norval Matthews, her parents; Louis and Bethel Utterback, children; Samuel Mitchell and Martha Gilbert, grandson; Michael Blanks, nephew; Monty Utterback, sister; Janell Gordan, and brother; David Utterback.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her children; Norman Mitchell and wife, Mayrene of Wright City, Oklahoma, Barbara Blanks of New Boston, Texas, and Mark Mitchell of California, grandchildren; David Mitchell, Debra Daily, Tracy Hoffman, Rebecca Johns, Michael Rogers, Chuckie Rogers, Gabriel Rogers, Aubrie Rogers, Selena Rogers, Jimmy Blanks,  Angela Cipriano, Cathleen Richards, Samuel Mitchell, Christopher Mitchell, Jeanie Mitchell, Thomas Gilbert, Mark Gilbert, and several other great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018, at 2:00 PM at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Sonny Dense officiating.

Interment will follow at Slater Cemetery in Wright City, Oklahoma.
