Helen A (Fobb) Battiest

Helen A. Battiest, age 92, passed away Monday, October 22, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas surrounded by her family. Helen was born June 11, 1926, in Idabel, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Russell Fobb and Ada Jessie Fobb. Helen was a retired teacher’s assistant. She loved and served her Lord and Savior, enjoyed singing, playing the piano, working in the yard, sewing, and quilting, she loved her children, grandchildren and her cat, Kitty Ray.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband; Isaac Battiest, Sr., sons; Levi and Esau Battiest, daughter; Susie Jones, her parents; Russell and Ada Fobb, and sister; Hildred Mombi.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her children; Isaac Battiest, Jr. and wife, Marie of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, and Henry Battiest and wife, Dinah of Broken Bow, Oklahoma grandchildren; Henry Battiest Jr., Lincie Battiest, Amanda Battiest, Katie Baker, Anita Jefferson, Andria Bohanan, Arita Battiest, Danny Jones, Levi Battiest, Jr., Jason Battiest, Jon Battiest,  and Kisha Battiest, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018. from 5:00 PM until 6:30 PM at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 2:00 PM at St. Mathew Presbyterian Indian Church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with Bro. Allen Beck officiating.

Interment will follow at the St. Mathew Presbyterian Indian Church Cemetery.
