Robert Murdoch

Robert Jordan Murdoch, age 79 passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at his home in Golden, Oklahoma. Robert was born, January 5, 1938 in Broken Bow, the son of Jordan Murdoch and Ruth Oehler Murdoch. Robert was retired from the United States Navy after serving  20 years and  doing two tours in Vietnam.  He had lived in the community most of his life. Robert was employed with Bailey Lumber Company in Broken Bow for over 20 years. He took great pride in his work, was a very humble and brave man. Robert was affiliated with the Golden Baptist Church and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Wright City, Oklahoma . Robert never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Murdoch and his parents, Jordan and Ruth Murdoch.

His memory will be forever cherished by his children, Mary Powell and husband Anthony of Hertfordshire, England and Mark Murdoch of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Jordan and Matthew Powell of Hertfordshire, England, Crystal Kelly of Oklahoma City, Rebecca Stover, Meagan Upton, Jessica Murdoch and Hayden Murdoch of Broken Bow; brothers, John Goforth of California, Wayne Murdoch of Broken Bow and Joe Goforth of Broken Bow; sister, Joyce Goforth of California; a host of other relatives and many special friends.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Golden Baptist Church in Golden, Oklahoma with the Bro. Steve Buchanan officiating.
