Robert "Bob" Eugene Hodge, age 80, of Bethel, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday , July 15, 2017 at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma. Bob was born, July 26, 1936 in Wilburton, Oklahoma, the son of Robert Owen Hodge and Irene Norwood Hodge. Bob served on the Kiamichi Family Clinic Board of Directors and served for over 20 years as a member of the Choctaw Electric Board of Trustees. He was a member of the Broken Bow Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Bob was a retired rancher and had lived in the county all of his life. Bob and Mary Lacy Hodge was united in marriage on October 16, 1987. Bob enjoyed riding bareback horses in his early years, but his true love of the sport of team roping was always there until his health declined. Bob loved to read and spend time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ruth Hodge; his parents, Owen and Irene Hodge; step daughter, Sharon Sudik; brother, Gary Hodge; brothers in law, Wendell Cunningham, James Hall and Billy Paul Baker; and grandson, BJ Hardin.
His memory will be forever cherished by his wife, Mary of the home; his children, Robert Hodge and wife, Sandra, Ronnie Hodge and wife Colleen and Debbie Bean and husband Al, all of Bethel, Ok.; step son, Billy Hardin and wife Nancy of El Reno, Ok.; one brother, Pat Hodge and wife Carolyn of Broken Bow, Ok.; two sisters, Patsy Hall and Mary Lou Baker of Bethel, Ok.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Ok.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Battiest School Cafetorium in Battiest, Ok. with the Bro. Archie Phillips and Bro. David Hardin officiating.
Interment will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Bethel, Ok.
