Vada Lou Short, 79, of Eagletown, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at her home while surrounded by family. Vada was born on September 11, 1939, in Eagletown, Oklahoma to the late Carl Smith and Evelyn Weaver Smith. Vada was a proud supporter of the Eagletown Eagles and an avid Oklahoma City Thunder fan. She enjoyed Facebook, watching her children and grandchildren play sports, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Vada was preceded in death by her parents; Carl and Evelyn Smith, children; Ricky Short and Jeremy Short, daughter-in-law; Cathy Short, granddaughter; Tara Short, sister; Katherine Franklin, sister-in-law; Phyllis Smith, and brother-in-law, Cleo Sharrock.
She leaves to cherish her memory, children; Randall Short and wife, Amy of Blevins, Arkansas, Robert Short and wife, Tami of Quincy, Illinois, Ray Short of Eagletown, Oklahoma, Rodney Short and wife, Johnna of Eagletown, Oklahoma, Eric Short of Goddard, Kansas, Tony Ashalintubbi of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Ramona Compton of Eagletown, Oklahoma, Amber Provence and husband, Wade of Cove, Arkansas, and Ranell Smith and husband, James of Terre Haute, Indiana, brothers; Charles Smith of Eagletown, Oklahoma, and Carleene Sharrock of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, special friend; Odell Hendon of Eagletown, Oklahoma, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, December 7, 2018, at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 8, 2018, at the Eagletown High School Gymnasium in Eagletown, Oklahoma at 2:00 PM with Bro. Melvin Gibson and Bro. Tommy McCaig officiating.
Interment will follow at Eagletown Cemetery in Eagletown, Oklahoma
