Alan "AV" Vanderslice Obituary

Sonny Alan (AV) Vanderslice

Alan (AV) Vanderslice was born on December 10, 1981, in DeQueen, Arkansas.  Alan departed this life to continue his journey on February 6, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 42.

Alan attended Broken Bow Schools where he excelled in Track, Football, and other athletics.

Alan enjoyed his life with zest and most often in the moment!  He loved fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors.  He was very caring, compassionate, and charismatic with those he loved no matter where he was, especially his nephew, Brody “Buddy Rock”!  He spent many years by his “dad’s” side building cabins and taking “orders”!  Alan had many friends that enjoyed his company and humor.  His little fur baby sister, Bitsy was always anxious to get his hugs.

Alan was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Vanderslice, his mother, Claudette Foster Stevens, his sister, Casey “Sissy” Vanderslice, maternal grandparents, Carl and Naomi Foster; paternal grandparents, Sonny  Vaderslice and Don and Betty Fike.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Kaidren Vanderslice, his “Dad” Dale Stevens and bonus mom, Leysa, sister, Tasha Stevens, special nieces, Alexis and Keagan Lawrence and nephew, Brody Lawrence, all of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. A special uncle, Jay Fike of Ocean Springs, MS, numerous other aunts, uncles, and relatives.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, Oklahoma with Jay Fike officiating. Interment to follow at Hochatown Cemetery, Hochatown, OK.
