Remembering the Life of Angie Lee Duckett
Angie Duckett was born October 11, 1926 in Ben Lomond, Arkansas. Angie was the fourth daughter of Harry and Ella Piggee. The family soon moved to Richland, Oklahoma.
The family relocated to Idabel, OK, where all the girls went to Booker T. Washington School. The family became members of Rose Hill Baptist Church, in Idabel, Oklahoma. After marriage, Angie joined the Macedonia Baptist Church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.
All of her High School years, she was interested and played basketball. A very good player, we are told. Angie also loved music. She sang in the church choir and sang solos for special occasions. She was a faithful member and also church secretary.
Angie received her GED and worked as a Food Nutritionist for the State of Oklahoma. Prior to Angie’s marriage to Clarence Duckett, her daughter, Donna Faye, and son, Cecil were born. To the union of Clarence and Angie, five sons were born.
Angie leaves behind to carry on her memory, a sister: Mildred Piggee and children: Donna Faye Givens (Lewisville, Texas); Cecil Ford (Nedra) Dallas, Texas; Clifford Duckett (Tina) Shreveport, Louisiana; Harold Duckett (Barbara Faye) Oklahoma City, OK; Harry Duckett (Tyhera) Idabel, OK; Clarence Duckett, Jr. preceded her in death.
Grandchildren:
Tammy Shoals, Terika Knight, Bryant Shelton, Randy Rutherford, Chantell Upshaw, Cedric Ford, Duran Burford, Quentina Smith, Catrese Duckett, Tyrico Duckett, Adrianne Johnson, Renisa Underwood, Tiffany Duckett, Tayauri Duckett, Troy Wheeler, Carshawn and Derriontar.
Great – Grandchildren: Earl Nelson Jr., Careed Wimberly, Detric Shoals, Monica Wimberly, Christian D. Dyer, Camryn Upshaw, William Upshaw, Braylen Ford, Berkeley Ford, Debbie Scales, Leslie Scales, Christian Elan, and great-great grandchild Khria Wimberly.
Preceding her in Death were her parents Harry and Ella Piggee, her husband Clarence Duckett, one brother, Joe Lovejoy, sisters, Geraldine Lovejoy, Katherine Bedell and Clara Miller.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday evening at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 105 Washington St. Broken Bow, OK with interment to follow at Williamston Cemetery, Idabel,OK.
