Anthony Dale Thweatt Obituary

Anthony “Tony” “Gramps” Dale Thweatt completed his earthly journey on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the age of 76 in Paris, TX. He was born the son of Jimmie Vernon Thweatt and Frankie Louise (Jackson) Thweatt on Wednesday, November 5, 1947 in DeQueen, AR.


Tony and Janene were united in marriage on May 12, 1967, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Broken Bow, OK and shared fifty-seven wonderful years together.


Tony became a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Broken Bow, OK in 1983. He was a 1966 graduate of Broken Bow High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science at Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He attended Texas A&M Commerce earning a master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling. He later served as Postmaster in Garvin, OK and served as a Broken Bow Volunteer Firefighter for ten years. He ran in the Relay for Life as a cancer survivor on many occasions. In 1988 he carried the Olympic torch as it made its way to the XXIV Summer Olympics.  He was loved and cherished and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.


He is preceded in death by his parents Jimmie and Frankie Thweatt.


Tony leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Janene “Maw” Thweatt of the home; his daughters, Tina Lynnae (David Bruce) Clinton from Oklahoma City, OK, Tracy Daile (Garry Boyd) Rand from College Station, Texas; grandchildren, Colbi Mills, Zach Mills, Ashlynn Clinton, Dawson Mills, Lakin Rand and Ian Clinton; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.


Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.


Funeral Services are set for 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2024 at First Church of the Nazarene Church, Broken Bow, OK  with Rev. Doug Henkel officiating.
