Barbara Ann Mathis completed her earthly journey Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at the age of 77. She was born December 17, 1946 in Holly Creek, OK to parents, Jim Mack Hastings and Wanda Billingsley Flaherty. 

Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother. She worked as an RN nurse for many years in Guymon, OK and touched the lives of many. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, she was renowned for her huge “Barbara Breakfast”, she loved working in her yard, bird watching, traveling and being on her back porch with family. She was the rock in her family providing them with love and support. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jim Mack Hastings and Wanda Billingsley Flaherty; husband, Richard Mathis; son, Luke Cogburn; two brothers, Joe Harkey and Charles Owens and one sister, Beth Watts.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sandra Sawyer, Judy Thacker and husband, Dale, Kenneth Mathis and wife, Marla, Kelly Cogburn; brothers, Frank Hastings and wife, Delores, Vance Hastings and wife, Linda; sister-in-law, Sherri Harkey; grandchildren, Tasha Mathis, Audrey Cogburn, David Baker and Ryan Baker; numerous great-grandchildren; a host of other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2024 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home, Broken Bow, OK.
