Bennie Leroy Whiteman passed from this life, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the age of 92 surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 28, 1930 in Goodwater, Oklahoma, the son of W.J. Whiteman and Nora Barrick Whiteman.

He met Seleta Taylor on November 30, 1956, and they married on December 26, 1956, in Hugo, Oklahoma. They shared 66 years of wonderful marriage together.

He retired from Sharp's Army Depot and shortly moved to Broken Bow, Oklahoma, where he started Ben's C.B. Shop.

He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

For those who knew Ben, they knew he never met a stranger.  He enjoyed visiting and talking with anyone he crossed paths with. He loved getting coffee and breakfast at Bunch's.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, taking road trips, riding motorcycles, and hunting for arrowheads. He most looked forward to his annual trips to visit family in California.

Ben is preceded in death by his parents, W.J. Whiteman and Nora Barrick Whiteman and brother, Richard Whiteman.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 66 years Seleta Taylor Whiteman, son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Gail Whiteman of Valley Springs, California, son,  Gary Whiteman of Valley Springs, California, daughter and son-in-law, Deleta and Michael Brumley of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Brandi and Chad Belford, Megan Whiteman, Makayla and Tyler March, Calli Brumley, Kaitlin Brumley, Christian Brumley; great-grandchildren, Sterling Hammond, Hunter Cathey; great-great-grandchildren, Ariel Fugundes, Cody Hammond and Loclyn Hammond;  a brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Darlene Whiteman of Lockford, California; sister-in-law, Lexie Whiteman of Stockton, California and sister-in-law, Wilma Satterfield of Gilmer, Texas; brother-in-law, Ben Taylor of Monroe, Louisiana, brother-in-law, Ron Taylor of Stockton, California, along with a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2023 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel, with Bobby Mason officiating. Interment followed at Broken Bow  Cemetery.
