Bernie Lee Glass, age 85, of Broken Bow, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 23, 2021, in Clarksville, Texas.
Bernie was born on May 6, 1935 to Bernie E. Glass and Snowey A. (Hyter) Glass in Grove, Oklahoma.
He and Madge Henson were united in marriage September 2, 1981, they enjoyed 31 years together before her passing in 2012.
Bernie was reared by his grandmother, Anna Hyter. He retired from the Federal Government after 32 years, retired from the U.S. Army after 43 years, and was the voluntary Chaplain for HMCC for 10 years. Bernie attended Southwest Texas University from 1955-56EE. He loved Madge Henson Glass, dearly, and enjoyed every moment they spent together. Bernie also loved his church families in the Church of Christ in Idabel and Broken Bow; he was very involved when, health permitting, he could attend. Bernie enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith show on tv and spending time with his cat, Rascal.
Bernie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Madge Glass; parents, Bernie E. and Snowey Glass; and his grandmother, Anna Hyter.
He is survived by stepchildren, Thurman Henson, of Durant, OK, Billy Henson, of Shawnee, OK, Mary Lou Wakefield, of Broken Bow, OK, and Jeff Lanning, of San Antonio, TX; brother, Charles Miller; and sister, Ann Miller.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, April 29, 2021, at the Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Franks officiating, burial will follow at the Crown Hill Cemetery.
