Bessie Ruth Cunningham

Bessie Ruth Cunningham, 71, of DeQueen, AR passed away August 25, 2023 in Little Rock, AR. She was born June 28, 1952 in Madill, OK the daughter of Milford Troy and Mary Bell (McHargue) Bunn.  

Bessie was a member of New Life United Pentecostal Church. She loved her church and church family and read her Bible daily. She was a blessing and prayer warrior to all. She was a people person and would never turn anyone away. 

She enjoyed cooking, canning, crocheting and donating items to the hospital and churches. She loved her family and cherished spending time with them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Milford and Mary Bell Bunn; great-grandmother, Lillian Belle “Little Granny” McHargue; brothers, Raymond Charles Bunn, Raymond “Billy” Bunn and Mitchell “Mickey” Bunn. 

Bessie is survived by her children, John Mitchell of Broken Bow, David Benjamin Mitchell and Patricia Diane Mitchell both of Holly Creek; brother, James Edwin “Buddy” Bunn of Holly Creek; sister, Betty Jean Morris of Holly Creek; grandchildren, Seth Matteson, Morgan Mitchell, Hannah Mitchell, Rhyan Mitchell, John Dalton Mitchell, Mathew Cullen Mitchell, Cheyenea Lynn Franklin, Raven Jade Mitchell and Lillian Belle Elmore; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Matteson, Nicholas Matteson, Opal Mitchell, Raelyn Mitchell, Levi Elrod, Dallas Wade Elrod, Jr. and Ethan Michael Wood; best friend, Vanessa McKay; numerous other relatives and friends. 

A Memorial Service is set for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2023 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Pollock officiating.
