Betty Gene Lawrence passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, in Midland, Texas, at the age of 77. Born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, on October 4, 1947, to the late Raymond and Betty Touchstone.
She was of The Baptist Faith, which she embraced wholeheartedly. She attended Lukfata Baptist Church before moving to Caddo, OK and attending Blue River Church, this is where she continued to grow in her faith.
Betty took great pride in her work for the Choctaw Nation. She enjoyed sharing the Choctaw Nation Heritage with anyone who would listen. She was an avid puzzle enthusiast, a voracious reader, and loved reading her Bible. Family time was her most treasured activity, especially moments spent with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nana. Betty's love for her four-legged buddy, Briley, was well-known, as was her fondness for a refreshing Dr. Pepper—a small indulgence that brought her great delight. Some of her most treasured time was spent with her great-grandchildren (Creek and Cove) sitting together in her recliner with her as she watched them take full control of her cellphone.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Betty Touchstone; the father of her children, John Lawrence.
She leaves behind her devoted children: Denise, and husband, Mark Bush of DeQueen, AR, their children, Joe Blaze and Karlie Bush; Teresa Lawrence of Caddo, OK, and her children, Brittany Foshee; Jackie Palmer and husband, Taylin of Allen, OK; great-grandchildren, Creek and Cove Palmer; sister, Janet Taylor of Broken Bow, OK; nephew, Michael Elrod and wife Becky, their children, Lacey, Colton, and Kelsie of Durant, Oklahoma; as well as her great-great-nephews, Liam Stamps and Wrenley Elrod, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Monday, February 3, 2025, Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Bush, Michael Elrod and Jackie Palmer officiating. Interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery, Broken Bow, OK
