Brenda Stickle Obituary

Brenda Stickle, a constant presence of love, peacefully passed away on May 26, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 83. Born on April 15, 1942, in Plunketville, OK to Homer and Nancy (Gammon) Burgess, Brenda's quiet strength and steady love shaped the lives of everyone she held dear.

A proud graduate of Smithville High School, Brenda's work ethic and friendly demeanor were evident to all who knew her. She dedicated many years of service to Tyson, where she was a cherished employee in the cafeteria and later in the store.

In June of 1959, Brenda married her beloved husband, Tommy Stickle. Together, they built a life rooted in hard work, the occasional teasing, and the kind of banter that comes from deep and lasting love until his passing in 2022. In 63 years together they raised a family, instilling in their daughters the values of perseverance and integrity. They poured their energy into creating a home filled with purpose, where friends were treated like family and every effort left a lasting legacy their loved ones will always carry with pride.

An excellent seamstress and cook, Brenda's skillful hands created memories, keepsakes, and traditions that will be passed for generations to come. Her passion for antiques spanned over four decades, reflecting her appreciation for history and craftsmanship. Brenda's lesser-known talent was her role as the family butcher, processing countless deer Tommy brought home. She took great pleasure in keeping her hands busy, a testament to her active and engaged spirit.

Brenda was greeted in heaven by her husband, Tommy Stickle; beloved ornery dog, Savage Stickle; parents, Homer and Nancy Burgess, brothers, Bob and Bill Burgess, son-in-law, Kenny Fowler, grandson, Colton Calaway.

She is survived by her loving family.  Children, Twila and her husband Blayne Calaway of Ada, OK, and Tonya Fowler of Ada, OK; sister, Margie Moore of Durant, OK, will miss her dearly, as will her adoring grandchildren, Caleb Shelton, Amanda and Cale Russell, Dustin Calaway, and Stephen Calaway. Brenda's great-grandchildren, Declan and Anders, along with many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 6-8 P.M., Friday, May 30, 2025, at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services are set for 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.
