Carolyn (Rhoden) Jones

Doxie Carolyn (Rhoden) Jones passed away on October 25, 2023 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma at the age of 80.

She was born in Idabel, OK on November 15, 1942, to Ruel Estie and Johnnie Dee (Roberts) Rhoden. She married Frank David Jones on December 16, 1985.

Carolyn graduated from Broken Bow High School and Southeastern State University.  She began her teaching career in Buffalo, OK, (one year – too much snow) She also taught in Mesquite, TX and taught for the U. S, Army Base Schools in Germany, Spain and the Philippines. After her return, she taught in Broken Bow until her retirement. Carolyn enjoyed traveling, needlework, reading, Oklahoma City Thunder, and was a fan and supporter of Broken Bow Schools sports and activities. She thoroughly enjoyed her lunch bunch friends and her many cats especially Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Jones; parents, Ruel and Johnnie Rhoden; sister and brother-in-law, Clarice and Donald LaGasse of McAlester, OK;

brothers, Darrell (Buddy) Rhoden and Harvis Rhoden; great nephews, Andy and Ben Rhoden.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Jane Rhoden of Wagoner, OK; nieces, Leslie and Geoff Roubik of Edmond, OK. Lori LaGasse and Gordon Kane of Allen, Texas, Amy Rhoden of Broken Arrow, OK; nephews, Ruel Rhoden of Rudyard, Michigan, Steven Rhoden of Wagoner, OK,  Craig and Fonda Rhoden of Springfield, MO, Mike Rhoden of Rensselaer, IN; great nephews, Alexander Roubik of  Midland, TX and Jack Roubik of Edmond OK; great nieces, Tasha Rhoden of Valparaiso, IN, Tara Walker of Rensselaer, IN; her lifelong friend, Joy Orr; a host of dear family and friends.  

Funeral Services are set for 2:00 pm., Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at First Presbyterian Church, 205 S. Broadway St. Broken Bow, OK. Interment to follow at Watson Memorial Cemetery, Oak Hill Community, Broken Bow, OK.
