Charlene Columbus Obituary

Charlene Columbus,61, of Idabel, OK entered her heavenly home September 26, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 17, 1958 in DeQueen, AR, the daughter of Williston Lee Wesley, Sr. and Delia (Carterby) Wesley.

Charlene was an avid OU and Dallas Cowboys fan. She enjoyed watching her grandson, Ethan Columbus and Donte Reece play ball, going to flea markets with her sisters and attending gospel singings. She loved spending time with her family and friends and never met a stranger. She loved working as a CNA and loved her co-workers and residents.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Delia (Carterby) Wesley; grandparents, Sema Battiest-Carterby, WWI Code Talker, Ben Carterby; brothers, Williston Wesley, Jr. and Bobby Wesley; sister-in-law, Sharon Summers; brothers-in-law, William Lee Columbus and Michael Columbus; aunts, Mary Neely, Margaret Billy and Josephine Taylor; uncles, Calvin & Drex Carterby and Joseph Wesley; nephew, Billy Joe Davis; niece, Cheri Wallace; special friends, Barbara Giddens and Charlene Harley.

Charlene leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Johnny Columbus, Sr. of the home; father, Williston Wesley Sr.; children, Charolette Pondexter and (Randy) of Idabel, OK, Johnny Columbus Jr. of Idabel, OK and Gary Ward (Brandi) of Idabel, OK; brothers, Bennie Wesley (Lisa) of Smithville, Jimmy Wesley (Debbie),  Howard Wesley (Lemanda) all of Wright City; sisters, Geraldine Wright of Durant, OK, Janelle Wesley (Frank), Jolene Davis (Greenedale), Edith Jones (Danny)  all of Broken Bow, OK; sister-in-law, Virginia Wesley of Wright City, OK;  grandchildren, Shareece, Ethan, Cash, Donte, Randay, Allyssa, Jashawn, MeJon`e, Analia, Eden, Cecil, Taya and Takara; great-grandchildren, Marquis and Kylee; mother and father-in-law, James and Ida Haddock of Idabel, OK; sisters-in-law, Patsy Columbus of Idabel, OK, Carol  Nease (Dan) of Fouke, AR, Malena Lewis (Mike) of Duncan, OK; several  nieces, nephews; special cousins, Naomi Billy, Louise Laney, Laura Gibson, Rhoda Taylor; a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2019 at First Assembly of God Church, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Vince Maytubby officiating, Interment will follow at Slater Memorial Cemetery, Wright City, OK.

A Wake Service will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home, Broken Bow, OK.
