Charly Bray Obituary

Charles Wesley “Charly” Bray, 65, of Broken Bow, passed away March 21, 2020, in Texarkana, TX. Charly was born on September 11, 1954, the son of Bobby Gene Bray and Margaret (Hughes) Bray. He married the love of his life, Martha (Scott) Bray, on April 12, 1974, they enjoyed 45 wonderful years together.

Charly was a graduate of Broken Bow High School, class of 1972. After graduation, he went to work for Brown & Root in Valliant. After Brown & Root, he worked for the Anderson & Dunham Sand and Gravel company, then he was employed by Ray Queen for 36 years. During that time, he helped to build roads for the Weyerhaeuser Company; operating the chipper, log loader, and road grader. Charly retired from Ray Queen Inc. in 2012 because of health issues. He loved spending time outdoors; where he enjoyed going hunting, fishing, and camping. Charly enjoyed horses, team roping, and attending his children and grandchildren’s ball games. He also loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Bray; father-in-law, Joseph P. Scott; brothers-in-law, Roy Scott, Jerry Scott, and Steve Maberry; nephews, Larry David Richbourg, Perry Scott, and Jason Storfregan; niece, Lupita Scott; paternal grandparents, George and Mae Bray; maternal grandparents, Charles Dalton Hughes and, Ivan Jean (Sells) Hughes.

Charly leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Martha Bray, of the home; sons, Kyle and Kolby Bray, of Broken Bow; daughter, Kelly Brown and husband, Cory, of Redwater, TX; mother, Margaret Bray, of Broken Bow; mother-in-law, Louise Scott, of Broken Bow; sisters, Pat Mitchell and husband, E.L., of Broken Bow, Terry Glasson and husband, Cletis, of Valliant, Teresa Wilkie and husband, Don, of Broken Bow, and Kim Harris and husband, Dean, of Broken Bow; brothers, Mike Bray and wife, Brenda, Les Bray and wife, Brenda, and Ricky Bray and wife, Pam, all of Broken Bow; sisters-in-law, Doris Richbourg and husband, Larry, of Glover, Vivian Scott, of St. Francisville, LA, Linda (Moyer) Scott, of Broken Bow, Linda Maberry, of Kaufman, TX; brothers-in-law, Paul Scott and wife, Patsy, of Broken Bow, Billy Scott and wife, Patty, of Ft. Worth, TX, and Larry Scott and wife, Melissa, of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Brayden Ross, Karly Jo Brown, and Jake Jordan; as well as, many other family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2020, at 2:00PM, at the First Baptist Church of Broken Bow.

Visitation will from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at the First Baptist Church of Broken Bow.
