Christine J. Simpson, 85, of Eagletown, Oklahoma, passed away on June 6, 2026 in Idabel, OK. She was born on August 3, 1940, on the bank of the Red River in Bowie County, Texas, to Chester L. Sullivan and Mattie L. Young.

Christine was united in marriage to J.B. Simpson on November 24, 1958, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and shared memories.

Christine spent more than 20 years working for Weyerhaeuser, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She began her career working different jobs on the yard and later retired as Treating Officer and Supervisor.

Faith was an important part of Christine’s life, and she was of the Baptist faith. She found happiness in tending her garden, reading books, and baking pies. These simple pleasures were among the things that brought her the greatest joy. Her garden reflected her care and patience, her reading reflected her curiosity and love of learning, and her pies were a cherished expression of the love she poured into her home and family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, J.B. Simpson, as well as her parents, Chester L. Sullivan and Mattie L. Young, and her brother, Wayne Sullivan.

Christine is survived by her son, James Bobby Simpson of Eagletown; her daughter, Melissa and Sam Halburian of Eagletown; her grandson, Sam Halburian Jr. of Austin, Texas; her granddaughter, Christy Marie Halburian of Eagletown; her sister, Billie and Dwight Hadley of Gilmer, Texas; and a boat load of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Each of them carries forward a part of her spirit, her love, and her example. Those who were blessed to know Christine will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Graveside Services are set for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at West Otis Cemetery, Horatio, AR with Mark Hannah officiating.
