Cleo Johnson, age 78, a resident of Bethel, OK surrounded by his family passed away peacefully at home Sunday, September 15, 2024. He was born to Riley and Madie (Cockerham) Johnson in Hugo, OK on April 13, 1946.
Cleo enjoyed hunting, camping, gardening, being outdoors and watching westerns. He had a strong passion for crappie fishing and basketball. Time spent with family was also highly prized.
Cleo married Wilda Sadie Westbrook and they had two children, Barbara and Guy, going on to later marry Rita Tharp and had three more children, Charity, Chance, Courtesy and Blake a special grandson loved and raised as their own son.
He is preceded by his parents, Riley and Madie Johnson and one brother, David Leon Johnson.
Left to cherish his memory, his wife, Rita E. Tharp-Johnson of the home; his children, Barbara Andrade and Eliseo of Dierks, AR, Guy Johnson and Traci of Bethel, OK, Charity Rodgers and Jeff of Andrews, TX, Chance Johnson of the home, Courtesy Watson of Broken Bow, OK, Blake Johnson of the home; brother, Curtis Johnson and Shirley of Holly Creek, OK; sisters, Francis Tatum and Betty Sargent both of Broken Bow, OK, Mary Phillips and Darrell of Watson, OK; grandchildren, Blake Johnson, Eliseo Andrade, Alicia Sullens, Cory, Caleb andRoyalty Rodgers, Kendall, Eli and Phoenix Eeds; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM, Wednesday evening at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.
Funeral Services are set for 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the Holly Creek Community Church, Holly Creek, OK with Bro. Steve Wall officiating. Interment to follow at Holly Creek Cemetery, Holly Creek, OK.
