Darlene was born February 5, 1946, in DeQueen, Arkansas the daughter of Homer K. Gordon and Willie Mae Scott Gordon. She attended Dunbar Elementary and graduated from Dunbar High School. Darlene married Henry Natt, Jr. in 1963. Darlene was baptized at St. John Baptist Church at a young age and later in life joined Macedonia Baptist Church where she was a faithful member until stricken with illness, but she never lost her faith in God. She loved reading her Bible and listening to her favorite gospel music singer, Rance Allen. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flower garden, quilting, and she loved and cherished her time with her children and grandchildren.

She worked for Kellwood Jeans Manufacturing Company in Idabel, Oklahoma for several years. Darlene loved children so much she decided to change her career and become a head start teacher, where she taught at Broken Bow Head Start for over 20 years, she was a very big advocate for education, encouraging everyone to get an education, she always gave good advice and was very blunt and to the point. For over 20 years she was a member if the Eastern Star and was a lifetime hairdresser. Her memory will forever be in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
