David Lee Wheeler

David Lee Wheeler, 73, of Eagletown, OK, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020, at Eagletown, OK.

The son of Merry Authur Wheeler and Annie Lorene Owens, David was born on March 21, 1947 in Haworth, OK. David graduated from Eagletown High School and was then drafted into the United States Army. He served in Vietnam as a mechanic from 1966 to 1968. After returning home, he worked in the log woods for six years before opening his mechanic shop. On May 5, 1977 in Idabel, OK, David married Glenna Denton. David loved hunting deer and fishing. He was the real “Bull of the woods”. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, daughter and grandchildren whom he adored.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Authur and Dell Wheeler; his mother, Annie Owens; one sister, Opal Howard; brother, Doyle Wheeler.

He leaves to cherish his life, Glenna his wife of 45 years; one daughter, Shonda Griffin and her husband, JBo, of Eagletown; his loving mother in law, Barbara Wood; one brother, Pete Wheeler of Eagletown, OK; two sisters, Margaret Robertson of Eufala, OK, Lanita Leonard of Broken Bow, OK; sister-in-law, Diann Brown of Benton, LA; three grandchildren, David Peevy and his wife, Rachelle, of Broken Bow, Trenton Price and his fiancé, Alyssa, of Eagletown, Megan Price of Eagletown, OK, Lacey Laster of Eagletown; two great-grandchildren, Jaxen Peevy, Christopher Donald, Brody Laster, Macey Laster, Pasley Laster, Tinley Williams; nieces and nephews, Tammy, Tonie, Timmy, David, Steve, Eddie, Tracy, William, and Jeff Huffman.
