Diana was known by many as “Straw”, short for strawberry, because of her strawberry blonde hair. She was also known for her love of the color Fuchsia pink. Diana was a graduate of Idabel High School Class of 1968 where she cheered as a Warrior Cheerleader. Her spirit and passion followed her as she transitioned to the role of a Broken Bow Savage supporter when her husband began teaching FFA and her children started school. She married Ronald Haltom on June 20, 1969. She was proudly employed by the Broken Bow School system and the superintendent’s office where she worked until retirement.

Diana enjoyed watching her older grandchildren showing livestock. She would circle Dierks to see if she could see her great grand playing at recess. A lifelong fan of George Strait, Diana attended several concerts and proudly wore his t shirts. She loved going to the cabin on Sam Williams Mountain. She made daily trips to Beavers Bend to feed the deer that recognized her pickup and voice. She enjoyed trout fishing with her grandsons and feeding the ducks at the city park. Diana was an avid antique collector and loved going to antique auctions alongside her husband. Diana was known for her exquisite quilting and seamstress work with her tiny quilts and handmade pin cushions renowned for their delicate, precise stitches. Her hands created memories and Keepsakes that will be passed on for generations to come. She kept her hands busy. Watching Pickers and Antiques Road Show was one of her favorite past times.
