Obituary

Don Brock passed from this life Friday, July 14, 2023 at the age of 68. He was born December 17, 1954 in Idabel, OK to parents, Van and Beatrice (Bunch) Brock.

Don and Debbie Gamble were united in marriage on August 17, 1983 and shared thirty-nine years, ten months and twenty six days together before his passing.

Don was a gentle giant of a man. He loved hard and always had a story to share. His soul was gentle, but his discipline could be strong with his strong hands. In early years he had a band and still enjoyed playing and singing for an audience. As Christopher grew and wanted to rodeo, Don gathered up metal and he and several young men built an arena with a few ol” bulls, he began helping young cowboys from Mutton busters to grown men to fulfill their dreams on rough riding stock. Many hours were spent at the old pen with lots of young people there. He said they were not out running the streets that they can come here. We moved to the Panhandle, and he flourished from there making more friends. Don worked for Dodge for 26 years along with being a law enforcement officer. Once he became a grandfather, he found something new to throw all of his attention into, he loved his granddaughters and Noah with all the soul that anyone could have. This gentle giant has gone home to be a mighty angel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Van and Bea Brock and Coy Johnson; brother, Bob Munnerlyn; sisters, Ginger Munnerlyn, and JoAnn Adams.

Don leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Debbie of the home; son, Christopher Brock and wife, Whitney of Golden, OK; sisters, Norma Whisenhunt and husband, Glen of Rufe, OK, Patricia Johnson Castro and husband, Pablo of El Paso, TX, Carolyn Queen and husband, Terry of Broken Bow, Kathy McCarrell of Broken Bow and Donna Cogburn of Wright City; brother, Jack Brock of Broken Bow; two grandchildren, Paisley and Pistol Brock of Golden, OK; special grandson, Noah Contreras of Texline, TX; mother and father-in-law, Buddy and Bobbie Gamble of Broken Bow; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and a multitude of friends.
