Donald Harkey

Donald Harkey, 81, passed from this life on September 22, 2023, in Texarkana, TX. He was born September 7, 1942 to Clement and Helen (Whiteside) Harkey.

Donald was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Broken Bow where he served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon. He had a big part in the Gideon organization. He was the USDA county executive director for several years. He completed his Batchelor of Science Agriculture education.  He was a cattle rancher for many years. He loved his family very much and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clement and Helen (Whiteside) Harkey; brother, Ray Samuel Harkey; father and mother-in-law, Cecil and Ruth Brewer; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Kay (Brewer) Harkey of the home; son, Sam Harkey and wife, Sarah of Cassville, Mo; grandchildren, Kaylnn, Leighton, Emma, Mason, Cooper and Madelyn; great-grandsons, Elliot, Canaan and Hutson.

Visitation will be held from 4-5 PM, Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, September 25, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Broken Bow, OK with Pastor Pete Wilson officiating. Interment to follow at Oakhill Watson Memorial Cemetery.
