Dorcas Ann Cox, of Holly Creek, entered her forever home on June 13, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was 55 years old.
Dorcas was born August 7, 1965, to Annie Lee (Hudman) Gore and Tommy Wayne Cox, in Overton, TX.
In 1994, she met her special companion, John Elkins, in Mesquite, TX. They spent the last 27 years camping, fishing, watching racing together.
Dorcas was a lifetime resident of Broken Bow, OK. She was known by many as “DorDor”. She worked numerous jobs at Holly Creek Fryers, Lanes and at Tyson’s. Dorcas loved telling the story of being 13 and a dishwasher at The Huddle. In her younger years she enjoyed spending her nights at the Corner Pocket. In her later years she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, feeding her animals, tending to her flowerbeds, burning brush piles, listening to music, and calling into the radio swap shop.
Her family will miss her cooking and her laugh, but most of all they will miss her love, ice cold sweet tea, and visits on her front porch. This not a goodbye, but a see ya later gater and after while crocodile.
Dorcas was preceded in heaven by her parents, Annie Lee Gore and Tommy Wayne Cox; daughter, Sheena (Green) Jordan; brother, Larry Cox; sister, Patty Cox; as well as her grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her memory will forever be remembered by her special companion, John Elkins and family; son, Larry Gragg; son-in-law, Paul Jordan; daughter, Kayla Thomas and husband, Brandon; grandchildren, Addison and Brannen Thomas, Zoe Jordan; dad, Charles Gore; brother, Roy Cox and wife, Tabatha, Frankie Cox, and Jamie Cox and wife, Kim; nieces, Kylee and Rylee Cox; nephews, Logan Cox and Dalton Ray; also, numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, aunt, uncles, and many many friends.
