Douglas Wade Toon

Douglas Wade Toon passed from this life Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the age of 77. He was born May 17, 1946 in Mena, AR to parents, Thomas and Louella (Gordon) Toon.

Wade was a lifetime resident of Smithville and was well known and liked in the Smithville area. He enjoyed mowing and taking care of his place. Wade worked in logging for years. He will be missed by his loving wife, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, TC and Louela Toon; first wife of forty years, Linda Toon; infant daughter, Terri Lynette Toon; daughter-in-law, Donna Toon; brother-in-law, Ed Long; nephew Doug Long; niece, Kayla and husband, Ronnie Phillips and sister, Katherine Winfield.

Wade is survived by his loving wife of nine years, Chiquita Baggs Toon of the home; son, Perry Toon and wife, Lisa; step-daughter, Katy Baggs all of Smithville;  sister, Wanda Long of Denton, TX; grandchildren, Terry “Nub” Toon of Smithville, Eddy Toon of Redland Community, Cullan Myers and Delana of Perkins,OK; granddaughter-in-law, Sarah Toon of Pollard Community; great-grandchildren, Jace Toon, Weston Toon, Shyan Toon and Charlie Myers; his Poodle, Stormy; a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are set for 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 14, 2023 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Olin Vaughn and Bro. Tommy McDaniel officiating.

Graveside Services to follow at 1:00 p.m., at the Toon Family Cemetery, Smithville, OK.

Pallbearers are Terry Toon, Eddy Toon, Dale Toon, R.E. Hudson, Dewey Toon and Roger Routh. Honorary Bearers are Perry Toon, David Toon, Arley Toon, Chuck Baggs, Jerome Carney, Waylon Routh and Adrian Routh.
