Dustin Gaskey Obituary

Dustin Tate Gaskey, 28, of Wright City, Oklahoma, entered Heaven on June 17, 2021.

Dustin was born on December 15, 1992, to Lyn and Sandy Gaskey in Paris, Texas. His family fostered his love for ranching and the western lifestyle. In true ranch fashion his childhood consisted of working in the hay field, bucking bulls, broncs and of course saddle horses. He was notorious as a toddler for riding his mount, Smokey Joe till Dustin would fall asleep on him. His love for horses extended to Satch and his very own horse, Newt. Most importantly, his family raised a strong man of God. Many have shared that even in the simplicity of his presence, his faith was evident as one set apart.

He attended Wright City School till his sophomore year and graduated from Tishomingo in 2011. He was active in FFA and played baseball. He attended Murray State College and SOSU. While in school he enjoyed working for Murray State College Farm and Harbert Ranch. He continued on to work for Circle H Ranch, Still Farms and Broken Bow Animal Hospital.

There is no doubt God orchestrated the meeting of Dustin and Madelaine in January of 2018. He said the moment he saw her he knew his life was about to change. Married on October 19, 2019, they became inseparable.

Dustin lived his dream life. Working for Real Screen Video, Dustin was able to travel the country helping with production of rodeos. His true passion was hunting elk in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. He had a heart for adventure, but he was a family man. Family was everything to Dustin. No matter how long he was on the road or gone for hunting season, he was always ready to come back home to be with his family. Dustin was so proud of his younger brothers, Cole and Kade and just wanted to watch them play baseball, go hunting together or even go for a ride in the hills. He truly understood the quality of time spent together.

Dustin was preceded by his maternal grandmothers, Glenda Smalling, and Kathy Stowe; paternal grandparents Arvel and Jodie Gaskey.

Those left to cherish his memories this side of Heaven are Wife Madelaine, Parents Lyn and Sandy Gaskey, Brothers, Cole and Kade Gaskey, Grandfather Jim Smalling and his wife Donna, his father and mother-in-law Randy and Debbie Mills of Colorado, Sister and brother-in-law Hannah and Casey Morman and his grandparent’s in-law, Grandma Lois and Pop-pop Ted Yurcak, along with many other family and friends.
