Stanley attended Oklahoma State Tech where he earned his certification as an autobody paint specialist in 1977. He also earned his associate's degree in counseling from Eastern State College in 2001.

However, his greatest accomplishment was serving the Lord. Stanley was a devoted servant of God and was blessed to preach the Gospel for 23 years. He was licensed as a minister on February 27, 2002, and was ordained on May 31, 2003. In his ministry, he pastored several churches including Cedar Baptist Church, Myrtlewood Baptist Church, Concord Baptist Church, and most recently Durwood Baptist Church. He served as the Missionary of Choctaw/Chickasaw Association from 2011-2018 and was moderator for the Choctaw/Chickasaw Association for 2 years. He also served as the Sunday School Convention moderator for 13 years until he had to step down due to his illness in 2025.

Stanley was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and pastor. When he was not spending time with his family or church family, he enjoyed watching OU football and Christmas Hallmark movies because of their happy endings. Stanley leaves behind a legacy of love, service, laughter, and faithfulness. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and aII who knew him.

Revelation 14:13 (KJV): Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest  from their labors; and their works do follow them.
