Ella Bacorn Obituary

Ella Louise Bacorn was born August 19, 1950 in Tulsa, OK to William “Bill” Lester Brown and Billie Louise (Reed) Brown. She left this earth early Sunday morning on February 28, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Ella married the love of her life, Steve Bacorn on December 6, 1968 in Glover, OK. Together they raised two daughters and sons-in-law. She spent the last thirty years spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ella was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County and a BBHS graduate. She worked the majority of her life in various businesses. She made many lifelong friends working at Cress’s Truck Stop, Otasco, Passmore’s Grocery, Burkes One Stop, US Mail Carrier in northern McCurtain County and Early Childhood teacher for Little Dixie. She always enjoyed working outside and burning brush piles.

When we look back and try to recall what she was “known for” a few things come to mind… She could “potty train” kids like nobody else.  She LOVED a good “bargain” and was known to buy things “on sale” because someone would NEED it at some point. She actually bought a blue dress to match Steve’s Harley so they could take 50th Anniversary pictures. She could make a dang good hamburger!

I think if my mama ever demonstrated to Jeannie and I how much that the Love of our Life should mean to us it would be found in the very last words she ever spoke here on Earth. Our mama looked at our daddy and simply said, “I Love You Hun”.

Ella was welcomed home by her daddy and mama, William “Bill” and Billie Louise “Sister” Brown; her grandchildren, David Bean and Leigh Bean; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Estel Brown, Earl and Virginia Brown and Charles and Betty Ann Brown; her in-laws, Gilbert and Josephine Bacorn; brother-in-law, Arvil Davis; nephews, Chris Brown and Tommy Gene Jr. and niece, Haley.

She leaves to carry on here on earth until they meet again “Up Yonder” her husband of fifty two plus years, Steve Bacorn; her children, Mark and Jammie Bean and Lance and Jeannie Chadwick; her grandchildren, Yvonna, Garrett, Brandi, Zach, Kyla, Jesse, Kaylee and Slick; great-grandchildren, Kadi, Maci, Baylee, Mylee, Jagger, Noah David, Westyn, Jasper, Gracie, Jentrie and Lani; grand dog, Jameson; her brothers and sisters, Tommy and Gwen Brown, Joan and Johnny Moon; Ken and LeVitia Bacorn; Cheryl Davis, Punkin and Sharon Strawn. A host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
