Obituary
Elton Britt Tinney of Wright City, OK passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the age of 80. He was born to parents, Jack Columbus and Josie (Raines) Tinney on Thursday, January 15, 1942 in Wright City, OK.
Elton was born in Wright City, OK later moving to California where he attended Porterville High School. After graduating he proudly served his country in the United States Marines. His career included working as a Psychiatric Tech at Porterville State Hospital. He worked as a Registered Nurse at the State hospital, Sierra View District Hospital and in the ER in Porterville and as a Standard Compliance Coordinator at the North Kern State Prison in Delano, CA. After retirement he eventually moved back to Wright City, OK. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Josie Tinney: his wife, Brenda Gayle Tinney in 2020 and wife Mary JoAnn Tinney in 2009; son, Steve Tinney; his siblings, J.C. Tinney, Lucille Saba and Linda Criswell.
Elton leaves to cherish his memory, son, Ronald Staley and wife, Josie of Porterville, CA; brother, Donald Tinney of Tulare, CA.; grandchildren, Ronald Joseph Staley, Amanda Barbee and Vickie Waggoner; great-grandchildren, Mason Barbee, Layla Barbee and Bjorn Waggoner; special friends, Roy and Sherry Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, a host of family and friends.
