Emily Lucille (Ware) Spoon, 93, completed her earthly journey on November 2, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born October 31, 1930 in Broken Bow, OK to parents, Rad Hubert Ware and Luria Mae Follis.
Lucille and Neal Spoon were united in marriage on December 17, 1960 in Cottonwood, CA and shared sixty two years together. They lived in Cottonwood for the first years of their married life and moved to Fair Oaks, Ca when the two youngest were in high school. After a period of years there they briefly stopped in Cottonwood, CA again and then retired to Broken Bow, OK to present.
Lucille was an active member of First Baptist Church of Cottonwood, CA. She worked in the church nursery, taught Sunday School and helped in Awana programs. She was a member of the missionary circle and worked for years in the VBS dept. In Fair Oaks, CA, she was an active member of Hazel Avenue Baptist Church where she was a helper in many areas and was key in preparing and organizing many meals for church functions. She worked on the election board in Sacramento, CA. She worked side by side with her son, Darrell, running Darrell’s photo shop in Anderson, CA for several years. Lucille was an excellent cook, baker, mother, and all-around homemaker to her husband and her four children.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rad Hubert and Mae Ware; brothers, Bob Ware (Gene), Stanley Ware (Ruth), Charlie Ware (Retha), Noel “Buck” Ware and Ernest Ware (Pat); sisters, Emma Louise Willis (Ed) and Anne Blair (Otis)
Lucille is survived by her husband, Neal Spoon of the home; children, Ronald Horace Storey, Darrell Hubert Neal Spoon, Stanley Russell Storey (Charlene), Stacey Mae Tucker (Nathan); daughter-in-law, Roseanna Gilbeau; sister-in-law, LaSaine Ware; grandchildren, Chandra Grijalva (Walter), Ryan Tucker (Natalie); step-grandchildren, River Flaim and family, Summer Gallinger and family; great-grandchildren, Phoenix Tucker, Abby Mae Tucker and Noa Lillian Tucker and host of other family and friends.
Graveside Services are set for 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 6, 2023 at Sweet Home Cemetery, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Greg Curtis officiating.
