Erma Wynell (Griffin) Gibson

Wynell Gibson passed from this life Sunday, April 10, 2022 at her home in Broken Bow, OK at the age of 75. She was born July 7, 1946 in Broken Bow, OK the daughter of Harland Odell “Doc” and Erma Lee (England) Griffin.

Wynell was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Broken Bow. She was an Educator for life. She taught in Altus, OK  Lukfata and Broken Bow, OK School Systems for almost fifty years. She received her Master of Education from SEOSU in Durant, OK. She was a very giving and caring person for many. She was always the cheerleader and supporter of the student that needed a little more attention.  She loved her family, her faith and her friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Gibson; father, Doc Griffin and grandmother, Daisy Clay.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother, Erma Lee Griffin; brother Roger Griffin and wife, Beth all of Broken Bow, OK; nephew, Justin and wife, Dee Dee Griffin of Albuquerque, NM; niece, Jill Burnett and husband, Josh along with great neice, Avery and great nephew Jackson of Shawnee, OK; Special Friend Brenda Ragland of Broken Bow, OK along with numerous family members and friends.

Funeral Services are set for 2:00 P.M., Thursday, April 14, 2022 at First Assembly of God Church, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Jimmy Smalling and Pastor Pete Wilson officiating. Interment to follow at Hochatown Cemetery, Hochatown, OK.

The family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M. at the church prior to the service.
