Freddie O Ward Obituary

Freddie Odis Ward, 80, of DeQueen, Arkansas, passed away on November 24, 2024. Born on September 24, 1944, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Dewey and Alice (Middaugh) Ward.


Freddie graduated from Broken Bow High School and soon after enlisted in the Army Reserve. He dedicated many years to his career as a treatment plant operator, a role he fulfilled with dedication and skill.


A man of simple pleasures, Freddie cherished the outdoors, spending much of his time fishing and hunting. He was often found singing in church, embracing both faith and family with equal passion.


He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Shawn Ward; sister, Theresa Neumann; daughter-in-law, Natividad Ward; and granddaughter, Monica Shay Ward.


Freddie is survived by his son, Robert Ward and wife Nancy of El Dorado, AR; daughter, Tammy Smith of DeQueen, AR; brother-in-law, Dwayne Neumann of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Odis Smith and wife Casey of Poteau, OK, and Taylor Smith of DeQueen, AR; great-grandchildren, Ryker Smith and Maesyn Smith, both of Poteau, OK; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.


Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2024, at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Bow, OK, where the family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the service. Bro. John Lindsay will officiate. Interment to follow at Hochatown Cemetery, Hochatown, OK.
