Geleta Marcum Obituary

Geleta Marcum, a beacon of kindness and unwavering devotion to her family, passed away in Calera, Oklahoma, on January 21, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on November 28, 1934, in Hochatown, Oklahoma. Geleta was the daughter of L.A. "Tiny" Clinton and Gertrude (Fish) Clinton, who both instilled in her the values of faith and community that carried throughout her life. She was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Broken Bow.


Geleta LaJuan Clinton and Billy Gene Marcum were married in 1951and shared sixty-three wonderful years together.


Geleta is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Bill Marcum; daughter, LaJuana Patrick, and son-in-law, Jimmy Parick; sisters, Vontrice Lacy, Yvonne Embree,  Reba Joines and Rita Lynn Clinton; brother, Jon Clinton, and nephew, Scott Clinton.


Geleta's professional journey was marked by an impressive thirty-five-year tenure at Public Service of Oklahoma, where she was not just an employee but a friend and a mentor to many. She enjoyed camping and spending time at the lake with friends and family.


Geleta leaves to cherish her loving memory her son and daughter-in-law, Clint and Mande Marcum of Durant, OK; daughter and son-in law, Daryl and Debbie Williams of Broken Bow; brother and sister-in-law, Doe and Johnnie Clinton of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Marc Patrick, Kristan Morris, Darissa Harkey, Taylor Marcum and Dathan Williams; nine great-grandchildren; lifelong friend, Shirley Burris; a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.


Funeral Services are set for 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 24, 2025 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Greg Curtis officiating. Interment to follow at Hochatown Cemetery, Hochatown, OK.
