Geraldine (Cole) Spencer Obituary

Geraldine (Cole) Spencer, a cherished matriarch, and pillar of her community, peacefully passed away on September 2, 2025, in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Born in Muse, Oklahoma, on October 31, 1934, to Artie Preston and Birdie Elma (Williams) Cole.

Geraldine was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Geraldine's life was a testament to her resilience, generosity, and enduring love for her family and friends.

Geraldine found joy in life's simple pleasures. She was often found perusing garage sales and auctions, a testament to her love for treasures and the stories they held. She enjoyed watching red birds, taking care of her cats and donkeys, activities that brought her immense joy and peace. Above all, Geraldine's favorite pastime was visiting with friends and family, which she considered the most important and cherished part of her life.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dean Spencer, whom she married on November 11, 1953. Together, they shared sixty-seven years of marriage until his passing in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brothers Preston Cole, Milburn Cole, and Glenn Cole, as well as her sister, Geneva Irey.

Geraldine leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Tammy Spencer, and her loving daughter, Glenda Spencer, all of Broken Bow; Her sisters, Anna Lou Spencer of Paris, Texas, and Charlotte Wade of Amarillo, Texas; her grandchildren, Mason and Kaylee Spencer of Broken Bow, and Carrie and Gary Johnson of Anna, Texas,  Shauna and Twauna Williams, both of Durant, Clancey Williams of Smithville, and great-grandchild Oaklynn Spencer; a special niece, Mary Ann Clouse of Broken Bow, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
