Helen Hamilton Obituary

Helen Marie Hamilton, 84, of Broken Bow, finished her fight, closed her eyes, and went to be with our Lord, on Sunday, July 5, 2020. She was born to Francis Turner and Myrtle Belle (Jenkins) Turnage on December 10, 1935.

After graduating from Broken Bow High School, Helen married Kenneth Ray Hamilton on April 16, 1955, and they shared fifty-eight years together. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Broken Bow.

Helen became a beautician at the age of sixteen under the tutelage of Marion Kendrick and worked at the Marionette Beauty Shop for many years. She established her own shop and later retired her career while working with her dear friends, Jane Ross and Martha Tucker.

Helen loved her family and being with them. She and Kenneth traveled many miles following Keith’s baseball career. If one of her grandchildren participated in an activity, they were there to show support. She served as Kenneth’s co-pilot on his many trips and enjoyed every minute of it.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; her parents, Francis and Myrtle; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lucy and Burt Richardson of Horatio, AR, and Joy and Elmer Peebles, of Ore City, TX; brother, Lindel ‘Gene’ Turnage of Broken Bow; and brother-in-law, Duane “Tack” Hammer.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Becky Dean and husband, Jack, of Broken Bow; son, Keith Hamilton and wife, Rosey, of Washington, OK; brother, Gary Turnage and wife, Jenny, of Noblesville, IN; sister-in-law, Helen Hammer, of Broken Bow; grandchildren, Derek Dean, Samantha Snead and husband, Justin, Jessica Dean and Justin Vaughn, Dillon Hamilton and wife, Heather, Darrell and Riley Hamilton; great grandchildren, Cillian Hamilton and Peyton and Parker Snead; as well as, many other family and friends.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Friends of the Broken Bow Public Library – 404 N Broadway St. Broken Bow, OK 74728.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Helen will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the Victory Life Church in Broken Bow, OK, with Bro. Jimmy Jeter officiating.
