Herod Willis Obituary

Herod Willis, age 75, of Idabel, passed from this life, November 9, 2020, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Herod was born on March 13, 1945, in Broken Bow, to Forbis Willis and Elizabeth (Billy) Willis.

He and Hazel Lousie Noah were united in marriage, March 14, 1969, in Broken Bow, OK, they enjoyed 28 years together before her passing in 1997.

Herod was a member of the Kulli Chito United Methodist Church, in Broken Bow. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed sitting outside. He also enjoyed listening to old gospel and country music, watching westerns on tv, and tinkering on anything. Herod could strike up a conversation with anyone, he truly never met a stranger. His doors were always open to anyone that needed a place to stay. He was very outspoken, and sometimes, sarcastic. He also loved his kids and dogs, but his grandkids held a special place in his heart. Herod was a hardworker, he never liked missing a day of work. He will be missed by all that knew him.

Herod was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Louise (Noah) Willis; daughter, Rosanne Spignor; brothers, Paul and John Willis; sisters, Naomi Willis and Rosie Pelfrey; grandsons, Andy Noah, Larry Noah, and Corey Gibson; niece, Janice Willis.

He leaved to cherish his memory, his children, Chris Willis and wife, Cathy, of Sulphur Springs, TX, Sheila Brandy and husband, Brian, of Idabel, Cassandra Willis, of Idabel, Greg Noah, of Broken Bow, and Chauncey Willis and Marian Shomo, of Idabel; brother, Michael Dewayne Willis, of Idabel; sisters, Edna Marie Harden, of Broken Bow and Jennifer Willis, of Broken Bow; eight grandchildren, Carmella Ramirez, Erica Ramirez, Ian Noah, Bryton Brandy, Baylie Brandy, Brandon Brandy, Lalani Taylor, and Jaron McKinney; 15 great-grandchildren; special great-granddaughter, Yaye; special friend, Paul Henthorne; special dog, Marley; as well as, a host of other family and friends.
