Imogene R Cockerham entered her Heavenly Home Sunday evening, October 24th in Paris, TX at the age of 87. She was born in Millerton, OK on Saturday, September 1, 1934 to parents, Clyde and Velma (Taylor) Cannaday and Mack Roberts.
She was a member of the Watermill Freewill Baptist Church, Millerton, OK.
Imogene and James Cockerham were united in marriage September 3, 1952 in DeQueen, AR and they shared sixty four years together before his passing on April 20, 2017.
She was a loving mother and a devout Christian wife who fully supported her husband’s ministry. She enjoyed working word search puzzles, family gatherings, and spoiling her grandchildren. Imogene was a prayer warrior and a hard-working lady. She was a great cook, and everyone loved her chicken and dressing.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Cockerham; grandson, Joe Wade Miller and granddaughter, Lindsay Cockerham; brothers, O`Dale Roberts and Earnest Gene “Bub” Cannaday and daughter-in-law, Patrice Cockerham.
Imogene leaves to forever cherish her memory her sons, Gene Cockerham of Valliant, Bruce Cockerham (Delaine) of Durant, Shaun Cockerham of Addison, TX; daughters, Barbara Miller (Ricky Bob) of Valliant, Rhonda Hall (Carl) of Florida and adopted son, Robert McKelney of Blossom, TX; brother, Clyde “Sonny” Cannaday; sisters, Trudy Roberts, Nancy Gibbs, Nellie Goodson, Linda Lindly, Brinda Neil and special granddaughter (raised as a daughter) Laynie Cockerham; fourteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a host of other family and friends.
Visitation for family and friends is set for Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Watermill Freewill Baptist Church, Valliant, OK with Pastor Christian Carey officiating. Interment to follow at Valliant Cemetery, Valliant, OK.
