J.C. Tipton

J.C. Tipton, 92, of Broken Bow completed his earthly journey on Thursday, August 17, 2023. He was born August 8, 1931 in Optimus, AR to parents, Vollie and Ethel (McCuistion) Tipton.

J.C. was a member of Broken Bow Church of God. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his hunting dogs. He enjoyed anything old, flower and vegetable gardening, playing music with his friends and collecting tee shirts and caps. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Vollie and Ethel (McCuistion) Tipton; wife, Peggy Tipton; son-in-law, Kelly Ware; grandson-in-law, Chris Brown; brothers, Monroe Tipton and Vernie Tipton; sister, Claudine Tipton Knott; sisters-in-law, Edna Mae Tipton and Zadie Tipton; brother-in-law, G.J. Knott; nieces and nephews, Dale, Larry, Vernell, Gail and Eric.

J.C. is survived by his children, Debi Rains and husband, Joe, Anita Brantley, Ramona and Danny Kennedy, Jackie Tipton all of Broken Bow; a very special caregiver that J.C. considered as his family, Rebecca Johnson of Broken Bow;  grandchildren, Jessie Brown, Jaime Tipton, Jordan Tipton, Kelli Burris and DeKarlus, Carrie Johnson and Gary, Mason Spencer and Kaylee, Lisa Poole, Lacey McDaniel and Todd; great-grandchildren, Shantell Harris, Terrance Harris, Kelsey Burris, Daniel Burris, Riley Johnson, Cambrey Johnson, Landrey Johnson and Oaklynn Spencer, Haley McKeever, Justin Poole, Jaxon, Deacon, Boston and Elliott McDaniel; great-great-grandchildren, Phoebe Bean, Halen English, Kylie Burton, Kaisley Burton and Dahkota Burris, Indyanna Armstrong and Legend McKeever; nieces and nephews, Gerald, Velma, Nelda, Brenda,  James Dennis, Wynell, Glenda, Tricia, Vance, Val, Jerry, Joey, Justin, Cherish, Kip, Shauna, Tia and Kiesha and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 21, 2023 at Broken Bow Church of God, Broken Bow, OK with Bro. Wayne Freeman and Bro. Doug Freeman officiating. Interment to follow at Hochatown Cemetery, Hochatown, OK.
