J D Wolfe Obituary
J.D. Wolfe, born February 28, 1940, in Ringold, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, on April 18, 2026, in Gilmer, Texas, at the age of 86.
J.D. was the son of Rosa and Dave Wolfe. He worked as a lumberjack throughout his life, with a career that took him across California, Oklahoma, and Texas, where he earned a reputation for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship.
J.D. found happiness in fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and making music, and he especially treasured time spent with his family. Known for his playful spirit, he brought laughter to those around him—most memorably to his grandchildren, who delighted in his storytelling and lighthearted antics.
He is survived by his daughters: Shelly Taylor (Craig) of Gilmer, Texas; Lisa Owens (Mike) of Round Rock, Texas; and Carolyn Kain (Jim) of Paris, Texas. He also leaves behind six grandsons, two granddaughters, ten great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as his brother, Johnny Wolfe of Arkansas. His love and influence will continue to be felt through each of them.
J.D. was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cathie Wolfe, the love of his life; his parents, Rosa and Dave Wolfe; four sisters; and three brothers. We take comfort in knowing they are reunited.
J.D. will be remembered for his lively personality, his love for life, and the joy he brought to those around him. He leaves behind cherished memories that will continue to bring comfort to his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Life Church, located at 201 James Butler Dr., Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Broken Bow.
